The concept of being service-based, is to offer customers - who have limited time and resources to select, procure, implement, commission and support such systems - an alternative solution to achieving the same business objective, i.e. faster, more reliable application response-time performance, together with the added-value benefits of a Diagnosys professional services team administering and maintaining the system.

The commercial basis of such a solution is based on the cost of the system included within the terms of the professional services fees, spread across a time period, typically 6-12 months (but can be negotiated). At the end of the agreed terms, the customer can opt to pay for ownership of the system licence to be transferred for a small sum. At this stage, sufficient knowledge and training would have transferred from Diagnosys to the customers organisation for an effective handover.

jetNEXUS for IIS is designed to bring content acceleration to all Microsoft IIS web servers or HTTP-based services, to deliver the benefits of significantly reduced bandwidth usage along with dramatically improved page download times. In addition to applications dependent on HTTP services, jetNEXUS can also be used by e-commerce sites, corporate data centres, extranets, web hosts and service providers.

jetNEXUS for IIS applies maximum acceleration by ensuring the right content is accelerated for the requesting browser. Most HTTP transmissions (e.g. ASP, JSP, XML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML, HTML, etc.) can be compressed by up to 90% with a typical bandwidth reduction and performance improvement of 50% or more.

Optimise WAN Bandwidth Utilisation

Reduce Network Traffic with WAN Bandwidth Optimisation

Many enterprises use WAN bandwidth optimisation in order to cut costs and relieve network congestion,but typical WAN optimisation products only reduce network traffic by ten or twenty percent. In contrast, a wide-area data services (WDS) solution can reduce network utilisation typically by 60 to 95%.

Data Streamlining Provides Better Bandwidth Optimisation

Riverbed removes repetitive traffic from your WAN through patent-pending Data Streamlining algorithms. Data Streamlining stores your WAN traffic on disk in a proprietary, application-independent form that can be reused by any application, any file or any user that sends or receives the same data. Whether a client requests a file that has been renamed, emails an attachment or uses another application like FTP or a Web-based application, any traffic that is generated that has been across the network before will not be retransmitted. Instead, only a small reference to the data is sent to the Riverbed Steelhead appliance on the opposite side of the network. Riverbed’s references are 16 bytes in length, yet can represent megabytes of data, which results in high levels of WAN bandwidth optimisation.

How We Do It ?

  • One or more Remote Balancer's will act as primary IP for your service.
  • You will be allocated a new IP (one per Remote Balancer).
  • Configure your firewall to allow us to communicate with individual servers - maybe use different external IP or better still use multiple ports.
  • If our advanced server health monitoring reports a node is up (maybe we get the correct answer to a full HTTP request) the remote balancer will send traffic to it.
  • The server will respond back to us. We will optimise, compress and cache the response before sending it back to the end user. In nearly all cases the end user experience is faster due to the acceleration we use.
  • By default the remote balancer is configured to send the traffic to the fastest responding server, however it can also be used in an active passive setup.
